Antibody staining both X. laevis and X.tropicalis.
X. laevis
Staining in sucker begins at stage 24, by stage 35 the sucker and hatching gland are clearly stained. The spotty pattern across the embryo it is possible to be mucous secreting cells. This was confirmed by sectioning.
X. laevis
The spotty pattern is seen much more clearly in X. tropicalis embryos
