Xenopus EST’s
Xenopus laevis EST (I.M.A.G.E.) clones
At the EXRC we have two libraries (IRBH and IRBG). We are likely to have IMAGE clones if the genbank accession number starts with the letters BC, (so for MCM2 the number is BC046274.1). If the clone of interest is not in these libraries you can still contact us on EXRC@xenopusresource.org and we will check if we can make it available. When requesting an EST, please provide us with either the IMAGE number or the accession number (e.g. BC046274.1), which we can use to decode the database.
On NCBI in Entrez Gene www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/ use the search to find your gene. Once you find your gene, click on it. At the very bottom of the page you can find ‘Additional links’. Click on the UniGene number (eg. for MCM2 gene it is Xl.382) and it will take you to a page with lots of information about proteins, sequences, EST etc.
Look for the section called ‘Sequences’. There should be a sub-section, ‘mRNA sequences’, so for MCM2 you will find:
D63919.1 | Xenopus laevis xMCM2 mRNA, complete cds |
U44047.1 | Xenopus laevis MCM2 mRNA, complete cds |
BC046274.1 | Xenopus laevis DNA replication licensing factor MCM2, mRNA (cDNA clone MGC:53486 IMAGE:5572325), complete cds |
NM_001087290.1 | Xenopus laevis minichromosome maintenance complex component 2 (MCM2), mRNA |
Xenopus tropicalis EST clones
At the EXRC we hold some clones from the following Xenopus tropicalis EST Clones Libraries: X. tropicalis neurula cDNA library (TNeu); X. tropicalis gastrula cDNA library (TGas); X. tropicalis egg cDNA library (TEgg); X. tropicalis tadpole cDNA library (TTpa) X. tropicalis tailbud Head cDNA library (THda); X. tropicalis tailbud cDNA library (TTba); X. tropicalis Full length cDNA set (TFL).
